INFORMATION REGARDING CORONAVIRUS DISEASE 2019 (COVID-19)

RxAdvance is committed to your health and safety. With a growing number of cases of the coronavirus, known as COVID-19, we would like to take the time to address what you need to know about COVID-19. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO) are monitoring the spread of COVID-19 worldwide.

How Does COVID-19 Spread?
COVID-19 spreads like other viruses through person-to-person contact. This is usually between people in close contact to one another from coughing or sneezing by the infected person. It may be possible to contract COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching your mouth, nose, or eyes. Spread of COVID-19 is possible before people show symptoms.

What are the Symptoms of COVID-19?
Symptoms can be mild to severe and appear 2 to 14 days after exposure. The most common symptoms are fever, cough, and shortness of breath. Deaths have been reported.

What Should I Do if I am Sick?
If you think you may have coronavirus, see your health care provider as soon as possible. There is no specific treatment available. Treatment provided is to help relieve your symptoms. If you develop symptoms and you have been in close contact with someone with COVID-19 or you have recently traveled, please contact your health care provider. Tell your provider about your recent travel or contact.

For mild symptoms, you will be able to stay at home during your illness. Stay at home and rest. Drink plenty of fluids. A humidifier or hot shower may help with coughing and sore throats. Pain relievers may be taken to help with fevers and pain. Avoid using aspirin in children. For more severe symptoms, treatment will be determined by your health care provider.

If you do become sick, stay in a room away from other people in your home. Avoid sharing personal items with other people. Restrict activities outside your home except to receive medical care. Do not go to work, school, or public areas. Avoid public transportation, ridesharing, and taxis.

How can I Protect Myself from COVID-19?
The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed. Simple measures can assist in preventing the spread of COVID-19:

  • Avoid contact with people who are sick.
  • Avoid touching your mouth, nose, and eyes.
  • Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces with household cleaner.
  • If you are feeling sick, stay home.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue. Throw the tissue in the trash and immediately wash your hands or use hand sanitizer to avoid spreading the virus to things you might touch.

Facemasks should be used for people showing cold-like symptoms to help prevent the spread of the illness to others. It is not recommended for people who are well to wear facemasks to protect themselves from COVID-19.

What if I am Pregnant?
If you are pregnant, avoid people who are sick and avoid illness by using preventive actions like hand washing. If you develop symptoms, please contact your health care provider.

If you are traveling, we encourage you to visit the CDC Travelers’ Health website (for current travel alerts. If you develop symptoms and you have recently traveled, please contact your health care provider.
